The outcome of single-visit nonsurgical retreatment and patients’ perception of retreatment: a retrospective cohort study with 1-year follow-up

Aim: To evaluate the outcome of single visit nonsurgical retreatment by clinical examination and PAI (Periapical Index) and, patients’ feedback regarding after 1 year.
 Material Method: 115 patients who previously had were recalled year dropouts, 84 examined clinically radiographical examinations completed pre-and postoperatively using Periapical Index. Patients also asked if they would still choose for teeth with failed root canal treatment.
 Results: The healing rate was 88%. tooth type did not influence (p=0.756). While failure lower in males (3.3%) than females (16.7%), gender affect (p=0.088). 97.6% a positive approach to retreatment. There statistically significant relationship between treatment patients' (p=0.013). is correlation postoperative VAS (Visual Analogue Scale) pain score (p=0.002).
 Conclusion: Single-visit viable option where certain periapical diseases such as symptomatic apical abscess are excluded. Patients, experienced successful retreatment, eager preserve their primary when available.
